Liam ran his thumb across the embossed seal on the envelope, the texture of the paper rough against his skin. He was going through his uncle's papers, settling his estate after a long illness. The letter, found tucked inside a leather-bound journal, was addressed to a publishing house. It was a letter of resignation. The tone was unexpectedly curt, almost dismissive.
