Rain lashed against the attic window, mirroring the storm brewing inside Amelia. She clutched the worn leather-bound book, her mother’s handwriting a familiar ghost against the page. "See the Northern Lights." The words seemed to mock her. Just last week, Amelia had snapped at her younger brother for leaving dirty dishes in the sink.
