Gemotions

The paper crackled under Maya's fingers. "Learn to play the piano." She had always wanted to learn, too. It was a shared dream, or so she thought. Now, her chest felt constricted, as if a hand had tightened around her heart.

The apartment, usually filled with laughter and shared meals, felt oddly hollow, a cavern echoing with unspoken words. She moved towards the window, the city lights twinkling like distant, indifferent stars. A bitter taste coated her tongue.

She replayed their conversations, their shared moments. Had he ever truly included her? Was she a participant, or just an observer? She felt a deep, piercing stab of something resembling profound disappointment.
