Gemotions

The drawing was on the refrigerator, held up with a magnet in the shape of a star. He stood frozen, staring at the familiar depiction. The creature had once been his confidant, his only companion. The memory of it brought a churning in his stomach.

He began to feel trapped. He knew he was overreacting, but it was difficult to maintain any composure.

He made a sudden decision. He told his partner he had to work late that night, and left. He drove, not knowing where he was going.
