Gemotions

David felt a prickling sensation on his neck, as if someone were watching him. He’d just picked up the book at the library, the title, "David's Legacy," stared him in the face. It contained all the highs, the lows, his moments of weakness and his greatest glories. He was at a loss for words. He wanted to throw up.

He sank down onto a nearby bench, the cool metal offering no comfort. The words blurred before his eyes. He felt a desperate urge to run, to escape this unwanted chronicle. He kept checking over his shoulder, as if the author were lurking nearby, waiting to judge. His heart hammered against his ribs. He felt like he was suffocating.
