Gemotions

The notification buzzed on Liam’s phone, another email. He hesitated, his finger hovering over the screen. He knew what it contained: more questions, more demands for explanation. His chest tightened. He exhaled slowly, trying to regulate his breathing, but it was no use.

He felt a sudden, urgent need to be alone, away from everyone. He stood up abruptly and started to pace his cramped dorm room. He felt a knot forming in his stomach. He kicked at a loose shoelace, the anger and fear warring within him.
