The invitation was a heavy, embossed card. "Join us for the Launch of Anya Sharma's Newest Venture, 'Innovate Solutions.'" Michael stared at it, the paper crackling in his grip. Anya, his best friend, had always been a whirlwind of ideas, but recently, her stories had become…grandiose.

He found himself scrutinizing the venue listed: a swanky penthouse overlooking the city. He pictured the lifestyle she’d described - the private jet, the designer clothes, the constant stream of high-profile clients. He swallowed, a knot forming in his throat.

He’d offered to help with some initial marketing, and he'd been rebuffed, a polite but firm, “I have it covered, Michael.” He traced the intricate script on the card, a sense of foreboding settling over him. He felt like he was standing on the edge of a cliff, about to take a plunge into something unknown.
