Gemotions

The morning sun cast long shadows as David stepped outside. His usual morning ritual – the warm rumble of the engine, the smell of leather – was absent. He felt a strange flutter in his chest, a sense of lightness that quickly morphed into something else entirely. Something… wrong.

He walked over to the spot where his car had been. It was empty. He felt the blood drain from his face. It was as if something was missing, a vital piece of him had been ripped away.

He ran his hand through his hair, a nervous gesture he wasn't even aware he was making. He looked around, checking the neighboring houses, searching for any signs. Nothing. His mouth went dry.
