Gemotions

The anticipation had been building all day, but now, as she approached "Chez Pierre," a different kind of feeling bloomed. Her breath hitched in her chest. A wave of nausea, unexpected and unwelcome, washed over her.

She noticed the small, handwritten note taped to the door, a stark white rectangle against the polished wood. “Thank you for your patronage.” Her vision blurred, and the words seemed to dance.

She felt a desperate need to turn and run, to escape the crushing weight of the announcement. Her legs, however, felt heavy, anchored to the spot.
