Gemotions

The old house creaked and groaned around Noah as he sat reading the letter in a dusty armchair. He had bought the book, a collection of local history, in an attempt to understand the property he had recently inherited. The letter spoke of secrets buried deep within the walls, of something hidden. A coldness settled into his bones.

He shivered, though the room was not cold. He had the sudden urge to flee, to leave everything behind. He stood up, knocking over the chair, the sound echoing through the empty house. He wanted out, to escape the creeping dread that was wrapping itself around him. He ran to the door.
