Gemotions

The weight of the house settled on my shoulders like a physical burden. My sister, Emily, was excitedly planning a remodel, but I felt a deep resistance. The air was thick, heavy, and the shadows seemed to lengthen with each passing minute. I had trouble focusing, my mind racing.

I found myself backing away from the front door, as if the house itself was rejecting me. I kept glancing at the basement door, knowing something was down there. The creaks and groans of the old house felt like a constant whisper.

"Are you going to help or just stand there?" Emily asked. "Just...give me a minute," I mumbled, my voice cracking. I turned toward the front door, my hand reaching for the knob, but something held me there.
