Gemotions

The old farmhouse kitchen, usually filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread, was eerily silent. My mother sat across the table from me, her gaze fixed on the antique tea set she was considering selling. It was her mother's, and it was beautiful.

I felt a strange tightness in my chest as my mother spoke. The tea set was a reminder of family. A reminder of her mother. Of traditions. And now, the thought of letting it go felt like a betrayal. I wanted to reach out, to reassure her, but my hand felt heavy.
