The house had always felt cold, but after learning about the unsolved disappearance, a local woman who had vanished without a trace, it felt like a grave. The police had searched the house, and nothing had turned up, but the lack of an explanation was the worst part.

"I need to leave," Margaret muttered, her voice barely a whisper. She stared at the blank wall, imagining the missing woman’s frustration, the sense of hopelessness.

She pulled her coat on, even though the house was stifling. She couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, of someone lurking in the shadows.

She grabbed her keys and fled out the front door, vowing to find out more about the previous owners.
