Gemotions

The waiting room was strangely silent. She kept checking her phone, looking for any excuse to get up and leave. Each tick of the clock felt like a hammer blow against her skull. The magazines on the table offered no solace, the words blurring before her eyes.

Her name was finally called. She stood, her legs feeling unsteady. Taking a deep breath, she walked toward the open door. The therapist’s office was decorated in calming blues and grays, but it did nothing to settle the knot that had formed in her stomach. Then, she saw him. And the world spun.
