Gemotions

The setting sun cast long shadows across the room, as Amelia sat by the window. The book, “Crimson Threads,” lay open on her lap. Her partner, Jasper, had always been secretive, but she'd dismissed it as part of his artistic temperament. Now, however, she could feel a cold fear blossoming in her chest.

The female protagonist, a woman named Amelia, shared her name, her background, and her deepest, darkest fears. She felt the blood drain from her face. She closed the book. Her hands shook. She felt a growing sense of detachment, as if she were watching her life unfold from a distant shore. The shadows in the room seemed to lengthen, closing in.
