The cramped confines of the basement felt suffocating. Amelia shifted, the flashlight beam dancing erratically across the damp concrete walls. A musty odor filled her nostrils, a smell that made her skin crawl. She had found the box while sorting through old boxes. This box, tucked away in the back of a rarely used storage space, felt out of place. It was small, unassuming, yet it radiated an unsettling energy.

She ran her fingers over the smooth metal surface, her breath catching in her throat. The box was sealed, a single, intricate clasp keeping the secrets within. She had no recollection of ever burying such a thing, of writing the name etched into the box. Why did her heart feel like it would leap from her chest? She gripped the clasp, her hand shaking.
