The library felt suffocating, despite the air conditioning. Sarah twisted the ring on her finger, the cold metal a small distraction. The book, opened to the relevant page, seemed to radiate judgment. Her essay, the one she'd agonized over, was now a public spectacle, and she felt a deep discomfort.

She read her words, her cheeks flaming, and felt a strange disconnect. It was her voice, her story, yet it felt... wrong. As if someone had taken a photograph of her soul and put it on display. She shifted in her chair, the hard wooden seat becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
