Gemotions

The author of the biography should have been ashamed, but the words only stung, adding to his ire. "A natural leader" it read. The words, so brightly printed on the page, were a cruel jest. They were also a source of confusion. He had always been told the opposite, in fact, and it had been the cause of his current predicament. He’d never been able to take control, not even of his own life.

He crumpled the pages in his hands, then threw them across the floor. He wanted to scream, to lash out, but the emotion caught in his throat. The apartment was a mess, and everything felt heavy, and the silence only amplified his feeling of… emptiness.
