The weight of the grocery bags felt insignificant compared to the burden of the news. "It's Mrs. Thompson, Dad!" Sarah announced. Her dad, Robert, stood frozen, the words echoing in the otherwise cheerful atmosphere. Mrs. Thompson. The woman who'd always made him feel like an idiot, who constantly humiliated him in front of his classmates.

Robert forced a strained smile. He started to unpack the groceries, his movements stiff and mechanical. The memories, painful and raw, rushed back.
