Gemotions

The weight in Sarah’s chest was almost unbearable. Every breath felt like an effort. She needed an escape, a place to lose herself. She ended up in a small bookshop on a forgotten street, the air thick with the smell of old stories and forgotten dreams. She picked up a copy of *Jane Eyre*, its cover scuffed and worn.

She began to read, searching for something to lift the suffocating weight. Halfway through the book, a folded note fell out, a simple piece of paper. It held a message.

"I have lost everything..." the letter began. Sarah felt a chill that had nothing to do with the shop's temperature. She read about loneliness and regret, and for a moment, the ache in her heart felt less like hers alone. She felt a connection, a shared burden that, oddly, gave her some respite.
