The chipped mug warmed Amelia's hands, yet the chill inside her refused to thaw. Another morning, another scroll through food blogs, and another pang. There it was again: "Grandma Rosie's Secret Chocolate Cake," lauded as the best in the city. Her Grandma's recipe, her recipe. The one she’d painstakingly perfected, the one she’d even named “Amelia’s Ambrosia” – before her Aunt Mildred, Rosie's daughter, had conveniently “misplaced” the original cookbook and “found” a slightly altered copy at the local bakery. Amelia closed her laptop, the glow reflecting a weariness in her eyes that mirrored the slump of her shoulders. She pushed the mug away, the once comforting aroma of the coffee now strangely metallic.
