“Well, aren’t you just a bundle of sunshine today, Harold?” His friend, John, chuckled, slapping him on the back. Harold forced a smile, the corners of his mouth feeling stiff and brittle. The newspaper lay open on the table, showcasing "Harold's Heavenly Honey Cake" – or rather, a slightly modified version, presented under a different name. The cake his sister, Brenda, had sold at her bakery. The same cake he had baked for her for her entire life. It seemed that even his family was gone.
