He stared at the screen, the blue light reflecting in his glassy eyes. It was a fake Facebook profile, the photos meticulously selected. The girl in the pictures was his daughter, Olivia. The posts, though, were a different story. Filled with sarcastic remarks, complaints about his parenting, and a general air of disdain. John's chest felt tight, constricted.

He felt like a stranger in his own home. He had always tried to be supportive, to be there for Olivia. Now, he was left with this hollow ache in his chest. A sense of being completely overlooked. He sat heavily in his chair, the room suddenly feeling too small.

He felt a sudden need to go outside, to breathe.
