The house seemed colder than usual to Eleanor. She'd discovered a finsta – a fake Instagram account – for her son, Liam. The posts revealed a side of him she didn't know existed, a cynicism, a world-weariness. A knot formed in her stomach, a physical representation of her growing distress.

She’d always strived for open communication. But now, she felt as if a wall had suddenly been erected. She felt an overwhelming sense of loss, a grief for the child she thought she knew. She felt a strange buzzing in her ears.

She closed her eyes, trying to breathe, trying to find some sense of calm. The feeling was a dark, heavy weight.
