Gemotions

The empty gallery space felt vast and empty. The artwork on display seemed to mock her, reminding her of the energy it took to create something beautiful, something she could no longer find. The air was still, heavy with a sense of unfulfilled promise. She stared at the letter, which she had opened earlier, propped up against a canvas.

The letter was from an ex-lover, who had ended their relationship years before in a brutal and unexpected manner. The apology was hollow. It spoke of a mistake, of a wrong choice, but held no genuine remorse. A feeling of futility washed over her. She crumpled the letter, and tossed it into the trash. The action did not bring her the satisfaction she hoped it would.
