Gemotions

The complaint was a terse email. A string of angry words. James stared at the screen, the fluorescent glare of the monitor making his eyes ache. He massaged his temples, the pressure a dull throb behind his eyes. He'd been trying to write, to create something, anything, but the words wouldn't come. His apartment felt like a cage, the noise from the construction site across the street a constant, mocking reminder of his failures. He deleted the email and closed his laptop with a resounding click.
