Gemotions

The clatter of dishes in the sink, the rhythmic thud of a washing machine – these sounds, once comforting, now grated on her. She sat on her old bed, surrounded by the remnants of her adult life, a life now reduced to boxes and a sense of defeat. The air in her childhood bedroom was thick, heavy with the scent of lavender and old memories.

She closed her eyes, trying to conjure a moment of peace, but all she saw was a parade of failures. She felt a profound sense of wrongness, as though she had somehow broken the natural order of things, a disruption to the smooth flow of the house. A feeling she couldn’t quite name.
