The afternoon sun streamed through the blinds, casting long shadows across the office. David found himself in a state of agitation, pacing. He'd been asked to train his replacement, a young woman named Jessica. He had no control over the situation, and his hands were sweating.

He had always prided himself on his expertise, his command of the processes. But now, as he explained the intricacies of his job, he felt a creeping sense of inadequacy. He found himself questioning his abilities. His chest felt constricted, making it difficult to breathe.

He had to force himself to sit down, to face Jessica and try to appear composed. His voice wavered as he spoke, and he could barely meet her eyes. The office walls seemed to be closing in.
