Gemotions

The old house creaked around her, a symphony of unsettling sounds. Claire stood in the cluttered spare room, the box of "Little Clara's Accomplishments" at her feet. She hadn't expected this.

She gingerly opened the lid. The contents were a curated exhibit of her childhood. Every stick figure drawing, every macaroni necklace, every attempt at penmanship was here. Her jaw clenched.

She spotted a particularly awful painting of a flower from kindergarten. Suddenly, she felt strangely small, almost embarrassed. She found herself backing away from the box. She had to escape.
