Gemotions

Sophia walked to the window, the sunlight too bright, the world too loud. She blinked against the glare. Her reflection, a stranger, stared back at her. Her youthful secrets were out for the world. It was a disaster.

She felt a dizzying sensation, as if the ground beneath her feet was shifting. She gripped the windowsill, seeking stability. She couldn't focus.

She needed to be alone. She needed to think. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the images, the words, the overwhelming wave of disbelief.
