Gemotions

The meeting dragged on. The presentations, the PowerPoint slides, everything seemed to be in slow motion. He was usually engaged, eager to contribute. Today, he struggled to concentrate, the knowledge of the salary discrepancy buzzing in his ears like an angry insect.

He felt a persistent prickling sensation across his scalp. When his name was called to provide an update, his voice sounded strained and unnatural. He stammered, his usual eloquence deserting him. He felt the critical eyes of his boss on him, and the rising tide of frustration within him.

He excused himself from the meeting early, citing a headache. He walked quickly out the office building, into the bright sun, desperate for air. His shoulders slumped as he walked, his stride lacking its usual confidence.
