Gemotions

The heat rose suddenly as he climbed the attic stairs. A wave of dizziness washed over him, making him sway. He really did not like this.

He noticed a forgotten box in the shadows. He bent down, the effort costing him. Inside, was a collection of photographs. He sifted through them, each one seeming to darken his mood.

Pictures of a family he'd never met, laughing, smiling. Their faces were so full of life, so carefree. It all felt like a mockery now. He closed the box, and just stood there, his shoulders slumped.
