Gemotions

The vibrant posters on the wall seemed to taunt me. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, my face pale. My roommate, Amy, was out, but the emptiness in the room was a heavy weight.

I walked over to the desk, the journal staring back at me, its familiar cover now a betrayal. I ran my fingers over the edges. My fingers trembled. I didn't know what to do.

I felt like my identity had been stolen, that someone else had access to my soul. I needed to leave, to escape. I grabbed my keys, heading out the door, the world suddenly less threatening than the few square feet of the dorm.
