The family home had been sold, and Sarah was tasked with going through some of the final things. In a box of forgotten trinkets, she found a collection of photos of her grandmother, her hair long and loose, and the way she was looking at a person. The person was a man, and not her grandfather. Sarah found herself unconsciously tracing the outline of her grandmother’s face, a sudden feeling of detachment washing over her.
