She dropped her phone, the screen flashing its unwelcome notification up at the ceiling. A chill crawled over her skin, even though the classroom was stuffy. She felt a need to double-check her privacy settings, a sudden compulsion rising within her.

She quickly grabbed her phone and went back to the app. Everything seemed to be in order. Her posts were set to private. She felt a peculiar pressure in her chest as she wondered if he’d seen her recent story, a silly video of her attempting a TikTok dance. She quickly closed the app, the world seeming to tilt slightly. The air in the room felt thick and heavy.
