Gemotions

The announcement had come during the team meeting. David, usually a picture of calm, found himself fiddling with the cap of his pen, clicking it repeatedly. Each click resonated loudly in his ears, an annoying counterpoint to the CEO's measured tones.

He noticed the tension in the room – the forced smiles, the sideways glances. A cold dread seeped into his bones. He knew, instinctively, this meant change, and change usually meant… uncertainty.

He excused himself, his voice strained and tight. Walking to his desk, he clutched at the edge of the cubicle, struggling to regain some sense of equilibrium.
