Gemotions

The shouting match last night. It was late, and she and her partner had a heated argument. Now, there was a handwritten note taped to the door: "Keep it down. We can hear everything." Her stomach twisted.

She couldn’t meet her partner's eyes at breakfast. The clatter of the dishes, the hiss of the coffee machine, each sound felt amplified, a betrayal. Every creak of the floorboards felt loud, broadcasting their shame.

She felt a deep sense of vulnerability, like all her secrets were on display for everyone in the building. A hot flush crept up her neck as she turned away, unable to meet their eyes.
