Gemotions

I saw it the moment I walked into the bookstore. Displayed on the counter, a university publication. The paper felt heavy in my hands. There it was, my essay. "The Shape of Silence." I felt my stomach churn.

I scanned the page, reading each word. It was a window into my past self, vulnerable and insecure. I felt like I was being watched. The store suddenly seemed too bright, too crowded.

I paid for my book and hurried out, the magazine clutched tightly in my hand. I felt a desperate urge to get away.
