He watched the rain splatter against the window, the rhythmic drumming a counterpoint to the racing thoughts in his head. Mark scrolled through the chat logs again, the familiar text from “Starlight_Gazer” taunting him. *Just moved to the city! Coffee sometime?*. His hand trembled slightly as he scrolled.

A feeling of unease crawled over him. He hated coffee. He had never considered meeting her in person. He hadn't told her the things he usually kept secret. The apartment felt suffocating. He paced the length of his living room, the wood floor creaking under his weight. He opened the window, the cold air doing little to soothe the heat that flared in his chest.

He felt like throwing up. He grabbed his coat. He needed to get out.
