Gemotions

The light from the chandelier seemed to reflect back at her, making her feel exposed. She felt the sudden, unwelcome heat in her cheeks as she saw him. He was standing near the bar, laughing with some friends.

She took a deep breath, trying to regain control. Her hands, usually steady, began to tremble slightly. She reached for her wine glass, then immediately put it back down, as if afraid she might drop it.

She felt a wave of nausea, the sudden urge to run. But she couldn’t, not yet. She was a bridesmaid, and she had duties. She would have to survive the next few hours.
