Gemotions

It was a beautiful day, the sun shining brightly, the air warm and fragrant. Until she showed up. The warmth of the day seemed to vanish, replaced by a chill that settled deep in his bones.

He felt the sudden, urgent need to retreat, to hide. He found himself avoiding eye contact, keeping his head down. He began to replay their last conversation in his head, reliving every word, searching for something, anything.

He had no appetite, no interest in the party. He stayed on the fringes, nursing a drink, a silent, solitary figure. He wanted to leave, but he couldn't bring himself to do so.
