The world seemed to tilt slightly on its axis. Maya felt the blood drain from her face as she stared at the magazine cover. There, splashed across the glossy front, was her research, her painstakingly gathered data, her conclusions – all attributed to “Dr. Eleanor Vance.” She felt a profound sense of dislocation, like she was watching a movie of her own life starring someone else.
