"Coffee?" The offer came from a woman with bright purple hair. Liam accepted automatically, clutching the warm mug like a lifeline. He was used to the rhythmic clatter of the factory floor, the smell of grease and metal. The art studio's scent of turpentine and wet clay felt foreign and disorienting.

He’d always enjoyed the precision of his former job. Here, everything was messy, covered in a rainbow of colors. He felt a constant pressure in his chest, a tightness he couldn't explain. He watched the artists, their hands moving with effortless grace, their faces lit with concentration. He hadn't touched a paintbrush since kindergarten.
