The request came during her yoga class. As the teacher’s voice guided them through a pose, Amelia’s phone buzzed in her bag. She felt a jolt, a physical shock that ran through her body. The name, Chad Williams, was seared into her memory.

She excused herself from the class, her heart pounding. The familiar studio, usually a sanctuary, now felt suffocating. She stepped out into the crisp air, taking deep breaths, trying to steady herself.
