"The Lighthouse Cafe" was closing. For Emily, the place represented freedom. After working a long week, it represented escape. The sea view, the smell of fish, the sound of the seagulls, were everything. Now, everything had shifted.

She sat at her desk, staring at her computer. The news, delivered to her by a friend, made her feel as though she had been knocked off balance. She felt restless, unable to focus. She found herself repeatedly refreshing the newsfeed, hoping for a retraction, a mistake.

Her hands fidgeted with the pen on her desk. She felt a need to move, to act. But where did she even begin? This was a place she always knew she could go. It was a lifeline.
