Gemotions

The constant movement and noise of the yard sale were making David feel ill at ease. He wanted to go home, but something kept him rooted to the spot, a feeling he couldn't quite grasp. He kept his head down, scanning the tables, the atmosphere weighing on him.

Then he saw it. The bear. He recognized the faded blue ribbon, the missing paw. A wave of dizziness washed over him, a cold sensation spreading through his limbs.

"How much?" he asked, his voice a strained whisper. The seller, a young man with multiple piercings, shrugged. David paid the asking price. He walked away, the bear clutched tightly to his chest, the sunlight seeming to mock him. He felt exposed, vulnerable, and deeply alone.
