Liam slumped into a chair in the university library, the air thick with the smell of old paper and ambition. He felt a profound sense of… something. He hadn't slept properly in days. He reached for a copy of "The Picture of Dorian Gray," hoping its dark beauty would ground him.

A small, folded photograph tumbled out, tucked within the cover. It showed a young man, handsome and reckless, staring directly into the camera. On the back, in elegant script, was a single word: "Forever."

Liam stared at it, his throat constricted. He didn’t know the man in the photograph, but he felt a strange, inexplicable connection, a dizzying feeling of dislocation, as if he'd stumbled upon a secret that wasn’t meant for him. He hastily returned the photograph and the book to the shelf.
