Gemotions

The man walked quickly, trying to distance himself from the scene where he'd discovered the abandoned wallet. His breath came in ragged gasps, even though he wasn't running. He kept imagining someone shouting, accusing him, demanding the return of the found money.

He looked over his shoulder constantly, flinching at every car horn and passing pedestrian. His palms were slick with sweat. He cursed under his breath, wishing he’d just left it. The image of the open wallet, overflowing with cash, flashed repeatedly in his mind.

He went into a dark corner store and bought a bottle of water, hoping to steady himself. He needed to think, but his thoughts were a jumbled mess. He felt a sharp, stabbing pressure in his head that wouldn't abate.
