Gemotions

He had to get out of the office. The air, thick with the unspoken, was suffocating. He grabbed his jacket, mumbled a hasty excuse to his supervisor, and fled. The crisp autumn air hit his face, and he gulped it down, trying to ease the pressure in his chest.

He walked aimlessly, the familiar streets of the city now seeming foreign. The familiar buildings seemed to loom, watching him, mocking him with their permanence. He felt a growing sense of isolation, a disconnect from the everyday world.

He found himself standing by the river, the water reflecting the gray sky. He watched the current flow, knowing that, like the river, nothing would ever truly stay the same.
