He wanted to scream, to lash out, to do something, anything. Daniel felt a pressure building in his head, a dull ache that intensified with each passing minute. He avoided looking at his coworker, Carol, as if her presence was somehow adding to his discomfort. He paced the small space, the movement doing little to alleviate the feeling of being trapped.

“I hate this,” he muttered under his breath, the words a desperate plea.

He kept glancing at the ceiling, at the blank metal, hoping for some sign of movement, some indication that this nightmare would end.

His breath hitched, and he forced himself to take a deep, calming breath.
